With Paul Bessant's retirement, the practice is delighted to employ Scott Carruthers as a new Finance Manager and Lin Boxall has taken on the role of Practice Manager.
The new surgery in Drummer Lane (off Station Road) opened in February. For those who have yet to visit it, it is considerably larger than the old surgery at Elm House, giving more consulting rooms, meeting rooms and a dedicated Minor Surgery suite. We hope to be able to offer more surgical procedures in the Practice soon, rather than go to hospital. We are also keen to have Complementary Therapists working from this Practice as well. The contact telephone number is still the same number (01980 842261)
Sadly, there are still a significant number of missed appointments. Once again, if you are unable to attend, please 'phone to cancel so that the appointment can be offered to someone else. Patients who regularly miss appointments will be removed from the Practice list.
These are now 'up and running' successfully. These are mainly run by our Practice Nurses with Doctor input and have been working well in optimising the care and treatment of our patients with chronic diseases like Diabetes, Asthma, Epilepsy, Stroke and Coronary Heart Disease
With our Triage system, we are able to satisfy the government target of offering any patient an appointment with a doctor within 48 hours. In fact the system means that a patient can see a doctor on the same day but it also means that a patient can also have their problem dealt with over the 'phone or be seen by a nurse depending on the problem. However, the disadvantage is that because all of the doctors are involved with the Triage system and with the chronic disease clinics, the opportunity of a patient to see the doctor of their choice has reduced.
There has been some confusion as to how often each doctor is in the Practice (see doctors' appointments table):
