Sr Laura Stewart has decided to leave at the end of the year to be nearer her family in the West Country. She will be greatly missed and we wish her well.

Dr Mike Rossiter has now reduced his time at the practice to two days per week. We welcome Dr Fiona Dawe to the Practice who will be here for two days per week. Although she started in October, she has already temporarily left on maternity leave and will be back in the late spring next year. In the meantime her sessions will be covered by Drs Sally Dangerfield and Sarah Waite (our previous Registrar).

'The GP Patient Survey - your doctor, your experience, your say'

This is a national survey from the Department of Health as a means of assessing and measuring the performance of your local Practice. Patients will be randomly selected and may not have necessarily had recent contact with the Practice. Patients selected for the survey will receive their questionnaires between 8-12 January 2007 with the final return date on 2 April 2007. Results will be made available on 31 May 2007.

It is not compulsory for all Practices to take part. This practice has always tried to offer the best possible service for its patients and therefore has agreed to participate. However, the Practice would like to stress that the survey and its questions have been set by the Department of Health. Many Practices around the country have declined to take part as they feel the survey is designed so that the government can alter the way Primary Care is delivered in England following the results of the survey. This Practice has reserved its judgement on this, but feels that if we did not participate at all then you would have no influence on the delivery of Primary Care in the future.
